So my beloved bux is corporately making some really big changes. I think due to the competition or should I say copy cats, buisness isn’t as booming as it was. I mean, its still booming, just not as much I guess. So Howard Shultz is now back in an original decision making position. They are trying to get back to basics. The grass roots of the company. Serving really great coffee with really great customer service. Today I found out that one of these changes means no more breakfast sandwiches. These were so yummy. And are really big seller. But I think making them took away from customers and ultimately changes the way the coffee tastes because of the aroma the sandwiches give off. Its weird I know, but its all about the whole experience. So in the near future, expect to not have a yummy hot and bubbly breakfast sandwich. In addition, they are slowing the production of stores in North America. Gone are the days of one on every block. Infact they will be closing stores that are underperforming. Thats a first for the bux. I hope to advance in the company so I am praying that KC still needs a few more. All in all, expect the bux to not try and reinvent themselves anymore, but to go back to its original idea. Interesting, huh.
I watched the state of the union last night. I love George. He is just funny to watch. He cracks himself up at times. I like when he winks at someone and I wonder what that is all about. I don’t know much about politics but I don’t understand how he can plead for congress to NOT tax us to death in this weakening economy and only one side agrees. Its so weird. I’m sure there is a reason. Can’t we just all get along?
Today we headed over to Fusion Church. We helped start Fusion 5 years ago. It was the 5 year anniversary and we were asked to hang out with the gang there. It was awesome to see where we started and where they have come to. Eric Lerew is the lead pastor and is such a great vision caster. He is one of those guys that can get you fired up to do just about anything. I was actually the first worship leader at Fusion Church. It was a small 3 piece worship team and we limped along. Today I helped lead with the team and it was so fun. Joe, who is the leader now, was part of that small 3 piece band. He is so talented and fun to sing with. We sang my new favorite song by Misty Edwards called “You won’t relent.” Man, this song rocks, it is just so good. Fusion is a place where the people really worship and that is so refreshing. Christ is the center there!I can say that helping to start Fusion Church has been one of the best ministry experiences of our lives. Nate and I had so much fun pouring our lives into the young adults at Fusion. (It was also a bit easier to pour into something because we didn’t have kids yet!) We did everything from create the logo and branding to creating mission statements. And today, to see the people whose lives had been changed by Christ as a result of the people in this church was an amazing thing.
But its really cold outside. So I am blogging about how cold it is. It was -10 this morning. If you know me…you know that I love the cold weather. But this is hurt your face cold. And I worked the drive window today. Ouch. And our cars are malfunctioning because of the cold and in our situation…that is not good right now. Thankfully…we are going to have a warm spell of about 40 this weekend!! Its going to feel like spring!
Heavy heavy things are on my mind today. I’m in need of some prayer.
Hold me near let Your love surround me
Bring me near draw me to your side
And as I wait
I’ll rise up like the eagles
And I will soar with You
Your spirit leads me on
By the power of Your love
